Electrical Engineer (# NSSC-EE1)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work in a team to evaluate security needs at sites, design overall security systems, and support installation of systems at sites
  • Lead specific projects from conception to final acceptance testing at the site
  • Provide electrical calculation in the clients format to support assigned projects
  • Write reports and other support documents required by our clients
  • Create electrical wiring diagrams to integrate security system components
  • Conduct research for product/technology selection
  • Travel required to sites within the US


Skill, Education and Additional Requirements :

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Have a recent Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Have the ability to use vendor reference materials to integrate electronic equipment in order to effectively design security systems for clients
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.

Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer (# NSSC-ED1)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and draw physical layout for conduit placement in plants and for outdoor installation
  • Design and draw electrical wiring diagrams using AutoCAD and/or Micro Station
  • Design electrical supply systems (up to 3-phase 480 volt and UPS systems) to support projects
  • Work in a team to evaluate security needs at sites, design overall security systems, and support installation of systems at sites
  • Lead specific projects from conception to final acceptance testing at the site
  • Provide electrical calculation in the clients format to support assigned projects
  • Draft project proposals and cost estimates
  • Write reports and other support documents required by our clients
  • Develop working knowledge of security systems used by NSSC
  • Conduct research for product/technology selection
  • Train / mentor less experienced engineers
  • Travel required to sites within the US

Skills, Education and Additional Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Have a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • The successful candidate must have both significant design and field experience
  • Five plus years of experience in Electrical Physical Design - Conduit Sizing, Cable Sizing, Cable Tray/Conduit Design, Conduit & Raceway tracking system usage (such as CARS)
  • Have the ability to use vendor reference materials to integrate electronic equipment in order to effectively design security systems for clients
  • Must be a leader, detailed orientated, able to work independently and capable of managing a project
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Nuclear Power Plant Experience is a plus

Software Developers (#NSSC-SD)

General Responsibilities:

As a member of the Application Software Development group, this individual will be part of a team of developers who design, implement, and test software applications. Applications will integrate video and data communications for software applications on Windows and Linux platforms. Typical applications will adhere to a client-server paradigm and will involve a significant amount of user interface development.  Apply advanced technical knowledge and experience to the solutions for broad array of video surveillance and security products.

Accountabilities with Expected Results:

  • Follow policies and procedures for software applications design, development, testing, and documentation.
  •  Analyze requirements and architect new software system designs.
  • Participate and contribute in team driven design development.
  • Provide technical leadership in supporting software and hardware systems.
  • Create and update documentation of systems software and hardware.
  • Legacy application software maintenance.

Experience/Skills:

  • 6+ years technical experience in software development, independent problem solving.
  • Experience with full life cycle systems development methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of MFC/C++ required.
  • Extensive knowledge of .NET Platform and C#.
  • Multithreaded application experience is a must.
  • Object oriented background.
  • Proficiency with sockets, TCP/UDP.
  • Well versed in Visual Studio/NET.
  • Communications experience using multiple protocols.
  • Windows 2000, 2003 server  and Linux operating systems
  • Relational databases – Access, MS SQL Server, stored procedures.
  • Experience working with hardware and embedded developers a plus.
  • Knowledge of XML  and Java is a PLUS.
  • Ability to work proficiently with very minimal daily guidance and brings mature seasoned skills when working with production systems.

Drafter (#NSSC-ED)

Job Description:

Create new and revise existing drawings using AutoCAD 2004+ and Micro Station (v7, v8).  Drawings include electrical circuits, conduit layout, electrical box layout, structural drawings of camera towers and equipment mountings, general building and site overview drawings, and block diagrams.   

Qualifications:

US citizen. High School graduate. Three to four years experience with AutoCAD 2004+ and/or Micro Station v7 or v8.   Familiarity with basic electrical circuits is desired but not required.  Computer literate.  Previous experience with security systems is a plus.  Students with architectural drafting experience will be considered based on skill level.  The skill set for architectural drafting includes the basic skills needed for this job.  Must be able to scale drawings correctly.  Knowledge of veiwports, dimensioning, and attributes are a plus.
